Research: Food Co-ops Toolkit

An informative and simple guide to setting up Food Co-operatives.

More and more communities are setting up food co-ops so they can get good food at an affordable price and have more control over where their food comes from.

This toolkit has been produced as part of the Big Lottery funded Making Local Food Work programme to help more communities set up their own food co-ops and buying groups.

It is most useful for individuals and groups who are thinking of setting up quite small scale food co-ops that are going to be run on a not-for-profit basis mainly by volunteers. These may include buying clubs, stalls, bag or box schemes, mobile stores or home delivery schemes, markets or shops.
